Walk through the Center this summer and you'll hear it before you see it — the joyful noise of kids learning, laughing, and growing together. Summer programming is in full swing for students from kindergarten through high school, with each age group following a path built to support their learning and development.
Our K–5 campers pair literacy support with hands-on activities, life skills, and plenty of outdoor play. Middle schoolers are focused on character development — learning about themselves and what it takes to become stronger scholars. And our teens are stepping into the professional world through the Summer Youth Employment Program, working with media, exploring emerging tech, and collaborating with their peers.
What makes the summer sing is our lineup of partners. Campers learned to play the electric violin and other instruments with Arts with a Purpose, explored galleries at the Eiteljorg Museum — which donated 100 admission tickets so families could visit together — and this week are gaming and getting coached at the Butler University Esports Park. Teens are also interning with Keep Indianapolis Beautiful and 40 West Digital.
As neighbors head home, we send them off with free meals from Gleaners Food Bank — part of our mission to help sustain the families we serve.
