Opportunity walked through our doors this month. The MLK Center teamed up with Project Indy — an initiative from Mayor Hogsett's office — to host a community-wide hiring event connecting young adults ages 18–24 with jobs at Crew Carwash.
It was our first hiring event in years, and the turnout showed just how much the community was ready for it. Applicants came from across Indianapolis, resume in hand and dressed to make an impression, each one taking a real step toward their next opportunity.
Events like this are about more than filling positions. For many young people, a first job is a foothold — a chance to build confidence, earn a paycheck, and picture a future they're working toward. By bringing employers and job seekers face-to-face right here in the neighborhood, we help remove the barriers that too often stand between talent and opportunity.
We're grateful to Project Indy and Crew Carwash for partnering with us, and we're already looking ahead to the next one. If you're an employer who'd like to connect with motivated local job seekers, we'd love to hear from you.
